Bard Graduate Center Logo DML Salon

The DML Salon is a retrospective of digital projects undertaken by BGC students and faculty over the past academic year. This year’s Salon showcases a selection of projects that illustrate the diverse ways that students are using digital tools in their research. Taryn Clary and Coco Zhou will present walkthroughs of their virtual 3D exhibition models created using Sketchup for Deborah Krohn and Nina Stritzler-Levine’s course “Design and Curatorial Thinking.” Taryn Clary and Bailey Tichenor will demo Body of the Poet, a web-based interactive which will be featured in the upcoming exhibition Poet of the Body: New York’s Walt Whitman at the Grolier Club. Elizabeth Koehn and Danielle Weindling will discuss the development of a digital interactive component in Paul Stirton’s Focus Course for his exhibition Jan Tschichold and the New Typography. Finally, as part of the first year of the Digital Literacy Initiative, Elizabeth Koehn will share her project, Avant-garde Magazines & The New Typography, and Coco Zhou, Lauren Drapala, William Neibergall, and Pierre-Jean Desemerie will showcase their collaboratively built website project Performing Through Dress: Practices of Adornment in a Global Context from Meredith Linn and Jeffrey Collins’s “Approaches to the Object” course.
