Dear Colleagues,

I’m pleased to share the announcement for our 2023 summer program for undergraduates. Annually, we try to introduce advanced undergraduates to an aspect of our study of the spectrum decorative arts, design history, and material culture. The course is geared towards rising juniors and seniors but open to all undergraduate levels as well as recent graduates. For this year’s focus, professor Meredith Linn will lead “Excavating the Empire City: An Introduction to the Historical Archaeology of New York City”. The course will introduce students to the rich material traces of the past beneath the city’s surface.
