With the holidays approaching, the lacemakers from Brooklyn Lace Guild are into the final month of their residency at Bard Graduate Center Gallery! Every weekend 1–5 pm until December 18.

Threads of Power is open until January 1 with the following exceptions:
Closed November 23 and 24
Closed December 25 and 26
Early closure December 31 at 4 pm

If you can’t make it to the gallery in-person, check out the Threads of Power online exhibition, which hosts incredible high-resolution images of the objects on view, excerpts from the catalogue, and provides online experiences of exhibition interactives.

Some highlights from the site include:

Tracing Lace, a collection of original audio stories with music created by artists Janani Balasubramanian and James Harrison Monaco.

a kìí ṣẹ̀ṣọ́ gbélé (we do not dress up beautifully to sit at home) a micro-exhibition and podcast exploring laces in Nigerian culture.

Information about the individual contemporary lacemakers who make up the Lacemaker’s Studio!
