I hope you are staying healthy and have settled into some new sense of normalcy.
Today, I am pleased to let everyone know that BGC has launched a BGC Student Emergency Fund. The mission of the Bard Graduate Center Student Emergency Fund (BGCSEF) is to provide relief from extraordinary financial stress and enable students to maintain engagement in their BGC research and academic careers.
The fund aims to assist students who are experiencing unexpected, significant challenges during this current crisis. Brandy Culp (MA ’04) is on the committee for the fund. If you would like to contribute to this effort or learn more about it, there is more information online HERE. If you have any questions, you can email BGCemergencyfund@bgc.ard.edu.
Bard Graduate Center’s buildings on West 86th Street remain closed and public programs are cancelled through June 30. If you’re craving some material culture sustenance during this time of social distancing, don’t forget that many BGC lectures and symposia recordings are archived on our YouTube page.

Alumni Spotlight
Hadley Welch Jenson (PhD ‘18) was recently appointed as a Research Fellow at the Lunder Institute for American Art for 2020-2021. In this position, she will pursue scholarship on artistic modernisms of the Southwest, a topic which directly aligns with a Focus Project exhibition she is developing for the BGC Gallery in Fall 2021. Congratulations, Hadley!
Dallas-based art consultant and BGC alum, Jennifer Klos (MA ‘07), was recently recognized in an article in Texas luxury lifestyle publication, PaperCity Magazine, for her partnership with designer Philip Thomas Vanderford and their collaboration on a gorgeous Dallas home.

Yale University seeks to appoint a postdoctoral fellow with research expertise in critical humanities to work on a project funded by the Mellon Foundation, called “The Order of Multitudes,” which examines histories of collections and the organization of knowledge.
