Greetings Alumni,

I hope this email finds you all doing well.

As you may have seen, the current BGC Gallery exhibition, French Fashion, Women, and the First World War has been receiving fabulous reviews since opening last month. In the New York Times fall preview, Roberta Smith calls the exhibition, “a feat of scrupulous, imaginative research.” You really must move it to the top of your to-see list if it’s not there already.

We have listed a few programs related to the exhibition below, as well as several exciting job opportunities and things to do in NYC and beyond over the next couple of weeks. Take a look below.

Do you know of an upcoming event that we should share? Did you recently publish a book or paper? Is there a job opening at your institution? Let us know! You can reach me here, or connect with us via the BGC Facebook or LinkedIn pages.

BGC has a limited number of passes to TEFAF, November 1–5 at the Park Avenue Armory.  Please email angela.prevosto@bgc.bard.edu  by October 25 to make a request. Professor Michele Majer, Emma Cormack (MA ’18), and Sarah Scaturro (PhD candidate) will be leading a talk entitled Storytelling and Clothing: French Fashion and World War I at the fair on November 5.

Warmly,
Grace Reff (MA ‘17)
