Learning from Makers in Archaeology
What can today’s craftspeople teach us about the art of the ancient world? This talk explores how working with potters, metalworkers, and other makers opens new ways of understanding classical Greek art—not only in terms of style or visual culture, but as the product of skills, choices, and labor. By bringing craft and archaeology into dialogue, this evolving project asks how materials and techniques shape meaning, and why paying attention to the processes of making matters for how we see the past today.
