The Lab for Teen Thinkers is pleased to invite you to the virtual opening of a digital exhibition about Seneca Village, the predominately African American community that the city displaced in 1857 during the construction of Central Park. The exhibition showcases artifacts excavated from the site in 2011, as well as historical documents and maps.

Explore the items villagers used in and around their homes. Learn the unique stories these objects tell us about life in nineteenth century New York City and the people of Seneca Village. And draw connections to our present-day life while reflecting on the past.

Join us for this exciting virtual exhibition!
