Dear BGC Friends,

Happy August! We hope you are enjoying your summer and are excited as we are for the upcoming fall semester. Don’t forget that as of September 7, 2021 staff can have a maximum of 10 vacation days in their banks—use your vacation days while you can!

As a reminder, proof of full vaccination is required from all students, faculty, and staff, by August 18 for those participating in student orientation, and by September 7 for everyone else. The only exception to this policy is for medical or religious exclusions documented with Samantha Baron for faculty and staff or with Keith Condon for students; the same deadlines apply. If you have not yet submitted your proof of vaccination, please do that as soon as possible.

Your co-editors,

Nadia Rivers & Maggie Walter

Ask BGC

Q: Will security at Bard Hall be required to be vaccinated as are all the residents?

A: No, we cannot require that our contract guards be vaccinated; that is up to their employer, Allied Universal. We are actively working with Allied Universal to develop a means of ensuring that any guard assigned to any BGC building who has not been vaccinated will be tested regularly and communicate those results to us in a timely manner.—Tim Ettenheim and Chandler Small
