A research symposium

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Staging the Table in Europe 1500–1800, this symposium brings together historians of food, culture, and print to further explore the themes of performance on and around the table. Talks will consider English coronation feasts, German court carvers, musical accompaniments to dining, and more.

Speakers include Ivan Day (food historian), Molly Taylor-Poleskey (Middle Tennessee State University), and Elizabeth Weinfield (Juilliard School). Evelyn Lincoln (Brown University) will join exhibition curator Deborah L. Krohn (Bard Graduate Center) and the speakers for a discussion following the presentations.

Friday, March 31, 1:30–4:45 pm
38 West 86th Street, Lecture Hall

For those unable to join us in person, this event will be livestreamed. The video will be available here the morning of the symposium. Registration not required to view the livestream.
