Last Saturday, September 24, we celebrated Lace Day with the opening of Lacemakers’ Studio!

Members of the Brooklyn Lace Guild, BGC curators Emma Cormack and Michele Majer, as well as members of the lacemaking community from in and around New York gathered for a viewing of the Threads of Power exhibition. Along with a visit to the exhibition and studio space, Australian lacemaker Maggie Hensel-Brown gave a keynote speech in the Lecture Hall.

Lacemakers’ Studio celebrates this history of tradition and innovation. Visit the studio every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm to witness lacemaking in action.
