Eve Barlow
Eve Barlow is a generalist in the arts, a trained actor, and a visual artist (at times). Her work often involves social practice and grass-roots arts development. She recently completed a master’s degree in material culture 20 years after her undergraduate studies in theatre and film—she felt no pressing need to climb an academic ladder.

In this talk, Barlow traces the challenge of being interdisciplinary and multicultural, living outside of normalized social structures, and contending with failure (supposed or actual). And she’ll share some percolating ideas for how to make the academy truly polyphonic—in practice, not just in content.
