Dear Friends,
Our beautiful exhibition Threads of Power: Lace from the Textilmuseum St. Gallen is now on view and continues to receive high praise. It has been recognized by Roberta Smith of The New York Times for “giving New York its first in-depth look in nearly 40 years at the history of this intricate, fragile and costly textile.” And, Laura Jacobs of the The Wall Street Journal recently wrote, “handmade lace has been called ‘white gold,’ and the BGC exhibition … shows us why.”
We are able to present such ground-breaking research and influential exhibitions thanks to you and other generous donors to Bard Graduate Center who care deeply about the history and meaning of objects as well as education and scholarship.
BGC alumni are now over 450 strong working at leading institutions and businesses across the globe. Just this year, our alumni were appointed to positions at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston just to name a few. Their success is also due in large part to generous donors like you, who support their research at BGC.
Continue to support in-depth research and thoughtfully informed exhibitions by contributing to Bard Graduate Center today. Your support will help us uncover new material, expand our understanding of history, advance new perspectives, and make more cross-cultural connections in the decorative arts, material culture, and design history.
No doubt you have many charitable priorities this year. We are grateful to be among the institutions you are considering for support. Gifts by check, transfer, IRA distribution, or donor advised fund may be sent to Bard Graduate Center, Development Office, P.O. Box 490, New York, NY 10024.
