Dear *|FNAME|*,

Earlier this year, Bard Graduate Center mourned the passing of one of its shining alumni, Heather Jane McCormick. An outstanding scholar and a dear friend to many, Heather was one of our earliest graduates, earning her master’s degree in 1998 and her MPhil in 2009. She was a contributing author to the Vasemania catalogue and was the managing editor of BGC’s influential textbook, History of Design: Decorative Arts and Material Culture, 1400–2000.

In tribute to Heather, BGC has established the Heather Jane McCormick Prize. This honor, which will include a cash award, will be presented annually by the faculty to a master’s candidate for outstanding work in the decorative arts, design history and material culture of New York.

We are reaching out to BGC’s alumni and friends to support this worthy initiative. A gift in any amount received by December 31, 2021, ensures that the Heather Jane McCormick Prize will be available to exceptional scholars for years to come.

You can make a tax-deductible contribution via credit card today below. Gifts by check, transfer, IRA distribution, or donor advised fund may be sent to Bard Graduate Center, 18 West 86 Street, New York, NY 10024. Specify that this gift is for HJM Prize in the special instructions field online or the memo field of your check. For more information, please contact Benjamin Krevolin at 212.501.3072 or benjamin.krevolin@bgc.bard.edu.

All best wishes to you and your loved ones this season. Thank you for your generous consideration.

With gratitude and appreciation,

Susan
