Dear *|FNAME|*,

The opening of Bard Graduate Center’s spring exhibitions is next week, with Member Preview Days beginning on March 24. See these fascinating exhibitions before they open to the public and take part in all we have planned. We invite you to celebrate this milestone moment by renewing your BGC membership.

Richard Tuttle: What Is the Object?
On View March 25–July 10, 2022
Bard Graduate Center Gallery

Consider your relationship with the things in your life by interacting with—picking up, holding, touching, viewing from multiple perspectives—the eclectic objects collected by celebrated contemporary American artist Richard Tuttle. An index card created by Tuttle accompanies each object, outlining his original encounter with it, how it entered his collection, and his thoughts about it. The exhibition also features a series of nine never-before-seen works by Tuttle along with sculptural furniture he designed to display his objects.

Conserving Active Matter
On View March 25–July 10, 2022
Bard Graduate Center Gallery

Conserving Active Matter explores the activity of matter through objects that span five continents and range in time from the Paleolithic to the present. From the things that clothe us to those that shelter us; from things that reflect our interest in the past to those that enable its performance in the present; and from sacred objects to the profane, Conserving Active Matter envisions the work of conservation as essential for the lives of the things that sustain us.
