This September, Bard Graduate Center presents French Fashion, Women, and the First World War, an exhibition that explores the complex relationship between fashion, war, and gender politics in France during World War I. Many objects and archival photographs will be on view to the public for the first time, including exquisite garments designed by Chanel and Lanvin.
