From Amy Estes, BGC’s Chief Communications Officer
Dear Alumni,
Tomorrow is my last day at BGC after an almost eight-year run. Getting to know many of you as students and as alumni and celebrating your myriad successes has been one of the great joys of the job. I am sad to leave BGC and also excited about my next chapter as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at L’Alliance New York.
In my efforts to promote your work and make sure BGC always has current news for its newsletters and social media, I’ve followed so many of you on LinkedIn and Instagram. I’m happy that means I will stay up-to-date on all of the amazing things you are doing. Please stay in touch!
Fondly,
Amy

Alumni Spotlight
At the end of May, many BGC alumni and current students participated in the Theoretical Archaeology Group’s 2026 conference, this year themed “#RESIST.” Leonie Trier (PhD ’25) collaborated with current BGC PhD candidate David Gassett to chair a panel titled “Resisting Master Narratives in Museums,” in which they each also presented; Talia Perry (MA ’23) and Elana Neher (MA ’25) put together the session “‘CTRL + Z’: Resisting Permanence through the Digital,” and they both presented papers as well; Mya Rose Bailey (MA ’25), Allison Donoghue (MA ’24), and Brenna Gomez (MA ’26) organized and presented on the panel “Coming to Our Senses: Interpreting the Multisensory Experience of Past People;” William Dunsmore (MA ’24) and current PhD Candidate Tova Kadish chaired “Disappearing Acts: Presence and Absence in the Archaeological Record;” and I collaborated with current MA student Maria Nefeli Panetsos on a panel we called “Material Resistances, Resistant Materials.” BGC faculty member Meredith Linn also presented and organized a panel—the conference had wonderful BGC representation!
