April 2, 2025
Dear Alumni,
I hope the official start of spring finds you well! I’m in particularly good spirits because I’ve passed my oral qualifying exams for my PhD program. If this season presents milestones for you, academic or otherwise, I wish you well!
Speaking of spring, BGC would like to host a career development roundtable later this spring. It would take the form of a conversation on life after BGC among current students and alumni in any field. If you’re interested in participating (or learning more), please reach out to Julia Cullen (julia.cullen@bgc.bard.edu), senior manager of academic programs and student affairs, who is organizing the event. I’ll share more information in the coming weeks!
As always, you can share news via our online form! I look forward to hearing your updates.
All best,
Julia Carabatsos (MA ’22)

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a curatorial assistant in the Department of Architecture and Design. The curatorial assistant provides support to senior curatorial staff for upcoming contemporary design exhibitions, collection-based rotation displays of contemporary design, and acquisitions to the collection. The curatorial assistant also works with colleagues across the museum and with external colleagues to provide preparatory assistance and logistical support that ensures that exhibitions, collection care, programs, department operations, and other daily functions are smoothly executed.
The Green-Wood History Fellowship provides a selected awardee with an unprecedented nine-month engagement with the Green-Wood Cemetery’s rich resources: a 478-acre historic landscape with an unparalleled collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century monuments and mausoleums, alongside expansive institutional archives dating back to the 1830s. This fellowship is open to current graduate students or early-career scholars (no more than five years out from their PhD) and provides support for independent research in any area of study that makes direct use of Green-Wood’s resources. The fellow will work closely alongside the cemetery’s professional staff, including the current environmental research fellow and artist in residence. They will also have the opportunity to craft public history programs to share their research findings with a wider audience. We strongly encourage research proposals that focus on historically underrepresented and marginalized communities. Applications are due on April 20.
