Materials Days: Penumbra Foundation
The first Materials Days of the spring semester is a tintype demo at the Penumbra Foundation. This workshop includes a tour of their facilities, including library, dark rooms, and studios, a brief lecture on the history of photography, and a demonstration in making a tintype photograph. There are still spots left for the second session.

WordPress Refresh
This workshop looks closely at expanding WordPress through the Divi Builder and Divi Theme, a set of tools that lets users fully customize the look and functionality of websites without any coding knowledge. Working with Divi’s toolkit, participants will learn how to implement advanced layout designs, develop templates, dynamic page content, and integrate multimedia. This workshop will prove helpful for anyone looking to have more control over the design and functionality of their web-based projects. Led by the DH/DX team.

Textile Handling
Historical textiles are particularly fragile and require extra care in handling and housing. This tutorial led by Assistant Professor Mei Mei Rado introduces basic principles on how to handle and pack textiles and dress according to museum practice. DH/DX Action Lab! Make Your Own 3D Printed Object
Come learn how to use a 3D printer, and print an object of your own! In this Action Lab, we’ll walk through the process of developing a 3D printed object, from concept to a machine-ready printer file. We’ll cover the basics of 3D printers including the hardware, printing materials, and 3D printer software. Fair Use & Copyright
This workshop will discuss the concept of fair use doctrine as it applies to images, the difference between copyrighted and public domain works, the concept of transformative use, and the factors used in fair use analysis. DH/DX Action Lab! Make Your Own 360 Object Photograph
360 photography can be a powerful and engaging tool for object studies online. Often used to showcase commercial products, these interactive images present an opportunity for your site visitors to explore all sides of an object and discover three-dimensional features not captured in a static image. In this Action Lab, you’ll learn how to set up a lightbox and turntable, photograph an object, and then export and embed the image as an interactive feature on a website. Led by the DH/DX team.
