DML Workshop: Advanced WordPress

This workshop looks closely at expanding WordPress through Avada, a premium theme that lets users fully customize the look and functionality of their websites without any coding knowledge. Photoshop Workshop

This workshop will cover the basics of image production and editing using Adobe Photoshop. It will give an introduction to using flatbed scanners, and techniques for correcting images in Photoshop for optimal color, contrast, and clarity. It will also discuss the different choices in resolution, format, and size for various types of image use, such as academic papers or digital projects. Led by Kate Dewitt, Art Director.

Fair Use and Copyright

Images are easy to find these days, but how do you know what you are permitted to use and what’s under copyright? If you have questions about image use, please join us for a workshop on fair use and copyright. We will discuss the concept of fair use doctrine as it applies to images, the difference between copyrighted and public domain images, the concept of transformative use, and the factors used in fair use analysis. DML Workshop: HTML/CSS

These two languages represent the foundations of modern web design, and together dictate the form and style which underlies nearly all webpages. Through this workshop students will learn the basics of HTML including tags, semantic elements, layout principles, linking strategies, and how to embed media. Students will also learn CSS and how to create, apply, and manipulate styles and style sheets in order to alter the display of HTML pages. Though this hands-on workshop, students will put these languages together to code and edit a basic multi-page website through a basic HTML editor.
