DEAI Resource Emails

In an effort to inspire each other to collectively consider DEAI and connect it to the work that we do, the DEAI Committee is launching a new outreach initiative. We will be sending out periodic emails (starting with this one!), with featured resources that relate both to DEAI and to the many activities of the BGC community. A growing list of these resources can be found on the internal BGC DEAI course site. Please contact Julie Fuller if you need to set up a Courses account to access these resources.

Black History Month

February is Black History Month, and the theme for 2024 is African Americans and the Arts. One great way to celebrate here at BGC is by participating in the upcoming Community Hour on February 29th from 4–6 pm organized by the first year MA students on the DEAI Committee. Details have been sent out in a separate email.

Tuesday Lunch with Deborah Lutz

We are also thrilled to welcome Deborah Lutz, a museum educator focused on accessibility, as the speaker for the Spring 2024 DEAI sponsored Tuesday Lunch talk happening this week. Here’s a resource on verbal description, a technique that Lutz will be discussing, in case you want to learn more!
